Cardrona Distillery, located in the scenic Cardrona Valley of New Zealand’s South Island, is a premium craft distillery dedicated to producing high-quality single malt whisky. Founded in 2015 by Desiree Whitaker, Cardrona was born out of her passion for whisky and a commitment to creating a world-class spirit using New Zealand’s finest natural resources.
Production Capacity and Infrastructure
- Stills: The distillery operates with two Forsyth copper pot stills handcrafted in Scotland.
- Annual Production: Cardrona produces approximately 80,000 litres of pure alcohol per year, focusing on small-batch, high-quality whisky.
- Water Source: The distillery draws its water from the pristine Alpine Cardrona Valley, ensuring purity and a unique regional character.

- New Zealand Barley & Local Ingredients: Uses 100% New Zealand-grown barley, malted to their specifications.
